USB server Gigabit enables transmission rates of up to 1,000 Mbit/s
The optris® USB server Gigabit enables the connection of USB infrared cameras and video pyrometers from Optris GmbH to gigabit ethernet networks. This permits a direct connection between a temperature sensor and a PC with cable lengths of up to 100 meters. The measuring devices can be conveniently supplied with power via PoE. The server enables transmission speeds of up to 1,000 Mbit/s, allowing the transmission of high-definition radiometric infrared images with a resolution of 640x480 pixels and 32 Hz. Dipl.-Ing. Torsten Czech, Product Marketing Manager at Optris GmbH, on the evolution of the product: “Customers can now also use our 640x480 pixels VGA model or the bi-spectral camera PI 200 without any compromise”. When restarting the system, the connections to industrial measuring devices are automatically reestablished.
In contrast to the previous model, the USB server Gigabit developed by interface experts Wiesemann & Theis GmbH from North Rhine-Westphalia is able to transmit the data of all PI models via Ethernet without affecting the frame rate. The device has two independent USB 2.0 ports and can either be supplied with electricity via PoE or via an external source of up to 48 V DC. It supports TCP/IP network protocols including routing and DNS.
