The new infrared thermometer optris CS with thermocouple output
September 21, 2012
Newly developed infrared thermometer optris CS is a cost-saving substitute to already installed thermocouples
Berlin, 21 September 2012. Conventional thermocouples may encounter high abrasion resulting from contacting measurement points and harsh surroundings. The new infrared sensor optris CS extends the lifetime of measuring fields considerably due to its non-contact measuring concept. Its standardized thermocouple connection allows the use of already existing measuring lines.
The innovative pyrometer covers a broad temperature range between -40°C and 1030°C. Additionally there is a new LED display. The electronic display unit not only serves as a targeting support for sensor alignment but the LED self-diagnosis also displays the condition of the pyrometer (e.g. overheating of sensor). Parallel to the new alarm output on the device (open collector), a visual alarm can be set through the LED. A temperature code signal rounds off the innovative concept of the optris CS. Its robust design makes it dependable in ambient temperatures up to 85°C without additional cooling.
In terms of reliability and connection diversity the optris CS sets a new standard in industrial infrared thermometers as it allows for significant time and cost savings for our customers. Besides the programmable thermo element, 0-10 V and 0-5 V outputs, there is the possibility to integrate the temperature sensor into the license free optris CompactConnect software via USB. Thus, besides temperature monitoring a complete parameterization of the sensor are possible.
Optris is one of the leading manufacturers and distributors of non-contact temperature measurement devices. We offer both handheld and stationary infrared thermometers for spot measurements and industrial thermal imagers for real-time thermal analyses. High quality and a production “made in Germany” are central criteria of our company policy.
